| Field notes | Plectocumia type palm liana to 10 m long, fresh lvs along apical 6 m, Leaf sheaths with many brown/black flat spines that point down or are perpenducular, longest spines to 3 cm, petiole 40-50 cm long, lamina 130x80 cm, pinnae ca. 32 per side. Apical cirrhus 70 cm. Inflorescences from leafsheaths to 50 cm long incl spathes which are very spiny. Inflorescences smaller towards top of shoot |
