| Field notes | Stem 3 m long, 2 cm diam. With 5 lvs apically; sheat with flat, black spines pointing downwards. Petiole 20-30 cm long, with few flat black spines; lamina 70-110 cm long, ca. 50 cm broad w. 30-45 pinnae per side, cirrhus 40-65 cm long with short stout spines pointing down; Peduncle ca. 20 cm long, rachis c. 10 cm; infructescence 10x8 cm with c. 25 fruits, peduncular bract 27 cm long with flat, black spines on outside. |
