| Field notes | Climbing palm to 20 m high. 30 leaves on stem. Sheath green with light brown spines with a pale and slightly swollen base, spines very short to 3.5 cm long. Knee inhabited by ants. Leaves 320 cm. Petiole 10 cm. Rachis 210 cm. Cirrus 90 cm. Leaflets 18 per side, irregularly in groups of 2, cucullate, somewhat spreading in different planes. Inflorescence interfoliar, to 110 cm long, old and dry, branching to 2(-3) orders. Bracts spiny. Rachillae 1-1.5 cm long. Habitat: edge of cleared humid forest |
