| Field notes | Solitary individual (caespitose individuals nearby). Stem 3 m, with flattened black spines; five leaves, leaf sheath 30 cm, petiole 52 cm, rachis 86 cm, pinnae in groups: 2,2,2,3 + end on one side, 1,2,3,3 + end of the other side, more or less in one plane, but first pinnae in each group slightly more erect than the rest; leaf sheath, petiole and rachis with flattened yellow spines (black at the base and at the apical part); one young infructescense with small green fruits and one old infructescences without fruits. |
