| Field notes | Caespitose palm left in pasture, shaded by large tree. With 3 stems, stem to 670 cm, dbh. 7 cm. Four leaves, attached over a distance of 1 m; leafsheath 110 cm, petiole 16 cm, rachis 190 cm; pinnae arranged in not easily distinguishable groups of 8,3,6,5,5,4,3,8,2,4,6 (a total of 54) on one side, counted from the base; pinnae almost in one plane, but first pinnae in each group slightly more vertical than the rest. With four infructescences: one old and three with green fruits in different sizes. Vernacular name: Peeganal (spanish) (name confirmed by various informants). |
