Field notes Solitary palm. Stem with conspicuous leaf scars, 290 cm tall, dbh. 5 cm. With 21 leaves, leaf sheath + petiole 50 cm, rachis 235 cm, pinnae are regularly distributed in one plane with 54 on one side. With one male inflorescence, peduncle 46 cm, rachis 50 cm. Vernacular name: Chincha (Canelos-Quichua). Leaves are used for thatch and are occasionally sold for this purpose. Fruits edible. Informant Abran Tanchima (Quichua).
