| Field notes | Caespitose palm in pasture. With 15 stems, the one collected 440 cm tall, DBH: 9 cm. Eight leaves, leaf sheath (77 cm) encircling the stem completely for 12 cm - forming a glabrous dark green-brownish crownshaft, petiole 16 cm, rachis 315 cm, pinnae (62 per side) in one plane and arranged in groups. Two infrafoliar infructescences with mature black fruits, one old infructescence, the inflorescence was collected from ont of the other stems. Vernacular name: Chimbi (Quichua). With edible and tasty palm heart. Leaves occasionally used for thatch. The stem used for various construction purposes. Fruits uses as a snack,- "para chupar". Oil is not extracted from the fruits.
