Identification qualifier  
Field notes Solitary palm. Base with numerous adventitous roots forming a cone 30 cm. tall, 55 cm in diameter. Stem 12.55 m tall (excluding crownshaft). DBH: 12 cm. Stem covered with grey to white lichens. Nodes only visible on the apical 2 m. leafsheat encircling the stem for 110 cm, forming a yellow to green striated crownshaft, with a diameter of 8.8 cm. No. of leaves: 13 + one juvenile. Peduncle 26 cm long, yellow-green to brownish. Rachis 257 cm long. No. of pinnae: 2 x 94, pendent. Basel pinnae threadlike, 34 x 0.2 cm, middle pinnae: 77 x 2.4 cm, apical pinnae 26 x 0.3 cm. Two infrutescences, inserted in fifth and sixth node below the crownshaft. Bracts: One prophyl and two peduncular bracts, deciduous. Peduncle 7 cm. long, dorsiventrally flattened, 3.6 x 1.7 cm in cross-section below basel rachillae. Rachis 47 cm long, peduncle and rachis grey and covered with greyish-white filtation. No. of rachillae 97. Fruits green, glabrous and globular, diameter 1.4 cm. Endosperm homogeneous.
