| Field notes | Solitary palm tree. Stem 2.20 m. tall, DBH. 31.5 cm. Lowermost 40 cm of the stem densely covered with adventitous roots. leafsheats deciduous. Leaves more or less erect. No. of leaves: 16, leafsheat + petiole to 3.5 m. long, rachis to 5.5 m. long. Margins of leafsheats splitting up in a dense mat of brown fibers, some being soft and hairlike others stiff and needlelike. First node below lowermost leaf with a dead, decaying bud. Node no. 2: With inflorescence. Node no. 3: Infructescence with young fruits. Node no. 4: Nothing. Node no. 5: Infructescence with mature fruits. Ca. 160 Rachillae to cm. long. Inflorescences with two deciduous peduncular bracts. Fruits with ruminate endosperm. Buds visible behind the lowermost four leaves. Lowest scar from an inflorescence was found 1.12 m above ground.
