| Field notes | Vegetation: bosque humedo andino and tussock grass paramo (recently burnt in places). Scandent shrub to 1.5 m x 1 cm diam.; stems purple with a rust-colouret indumentum; leaves semi-coriaceous, discolorous, dark green glossy above, paler green and dull below; flowers with a foetid smell, petals revolute, cream with pink tinge at base, greenish outer face wiht rusty tomentum, staminal column green-yellow.
