| Field notes | tree 2.5 - 3 m x 25 cm diam., bark dark greyish black, vertically fissured and fractured into small blocks (bark og young branches peeling in papery strips); leaves very diccolorous, dark bottle-green above, pale greyish white below with a slight tan tinge, phyllaries pale green, the apical ones pale brown at their tips, ray flowers pale yellow, disc florets yellow; flowers slightly scented.
