| Field notes | Solitary palm. Stem 4 m high, 4 cm thick; internodes 9.5 cm long. Leaves 15 per stem; sheath 24 cm long, open, with 1 cm long yellow spines; petiole 12 cm long, section round; rachis 108 cm long; lamina pinnate, pinnae 13 per side, inserted in groups of 2; basal pinna 24 cm long, 8 cm wide, middle pinna 28 cm long, 7 cm wide, apical pinna 18 cm long, 14 cm wide. Infructescence interfoliar, upright; prophyll 47 cm long; peduncular bract 142 cm long; peduncle 96 cm long; rachis 47 cm long; rachillae 31, 14-49 cm long. Flowers purple. Fruits purple, 1x1 cm.
