| Field notes | Colonial palm with 8 stems. Stems to 7 m high, 4.4-5.4 cm thick, smooth, with few spines on the nodes. Roots few visible. Leaves 10-11 per stem; sheath 45 cm long, open, with 2-5 cm long black spines; petiole 28 cm long, section round, with 10 cm long black spines; rachis 132 cm long, with 2-8 cm long black spines; lamina entire, 184 cm long, 55 cm wide. Silica gel sample taken. Transect: HB 1047, subunit no. 9 |
