| Field notes | Solitary palm. Stem 2.2 m long, 2.5 cm thick; internodes 23 cm long, smooth, green. Visible roots 32, 12 cm long, 1 cm thick, forming a root cone. Leaves 7; sheath 34 cm long, closed; petiole 19.5 cm long, section round; rachis 42.5 cm long; lamina pinnate, 49 cm long, 12 cm wide; pinnae 2 per side; basal pinna 49 cm long, apical pinna 42 cm long. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 3.5 cm long, herbaceous; peduncular bracts 4, 23 cm long, cream; peduncle 27 cm long; rachillae 17, 9-15 cm long. Flowers sessile, yellow. Transect: HB 1046 |
