| Field notes | Solitary. Acaulescent, with a cone of adventious roots at base 5 cm, 2 mm wide. Leaves 8; sheath 5 cm, open to base, old leafbases persistent, decaying; petiole 39 cm, almost terete; rachis 30 -35 cm; pinnae 5 -9 per side, basal pinnae 16 x 6 cm, middle pinnae 16 x 6.5 cm, apical pinnae 14 x 5.5 cm. Inflorescence interfoliar, spicate, prophyll 8 cm, 0.8 mm wide; peduncular bract 18 cm, inserted just above prophyll, covered with light brown tomentum; peduncal 35 cm; rachis 17 cm, 0.6 cm wide, reddish. |
