| Field notes | Cespitose. Stem to 4 m, 2 cm diam, internodes 2.5-3 cm, dark green. Leaves 8; sheath of lower leaf 6 cm, open to base; petiole 50 cm, rounded below, flat above; rachis 80 cm; pinnae 20 per side, basal pinna 36 x 2.5 cm, middle pinna 39 x 4 cm, apical pinna 28 x 5 cm. Inflorescence interfoliar, twice branched; prophyll 10 cm, fibrously decaying; peduncular bract 10 cm, inserted just above prophyll, fibrously decaying; peduncle 10 cm; rachis 13 cm; 1. order rachillae 14, the upper 6 simple, these 8 cm, 0.3-0.4 cm wide, lower 1 order rachillae 9 cm, pedunculate for 7 cm, with 6.2 order rachillae, these 9 cm, 0.3-0.4 cm wide. |
