Field notes Solitary. stem 150 cm, 3 cm diam., internodes 3.5 - 5 cm, light brown. Leaves 11, old leaves persistent, decaying; sheath of lower leaf 15 cm, open to base, reticulate fibrous at margin; petiole 35 cm, rounded below, flat above; rachis 90 - 110 cm; pinnae 4 - 9 per side, 1 - 17 veined, basal pinnae 53 X 10 cm, middle pinnae 53 X 17 cm, apical pinnae 50 X 12 cm. Inflorescence (dead) interfoliar; prophyll 17 cm, fibrous; peduncular bract 15 cm, enclosed in prophyll, inserted 2.5 cm above prophyll; peduncle 25 cm, 1.5 cm wide, flat; rachis 22 cm. Note: found in hilly terrain on terra firma.
