| Field notes | Solitary. Acaulescent or with a short subterennean stem to 5-6 cm, 3-4 cm diam. Leaves 7; sheath of lower leaf 5-7 cm, open to base; petiole 14-20 cm, rounded below, flat above with two pronounced ridges; rachis 50-65 cm, rounded below, sharply ridged above; pinnae 2-4 per side or sometimes with an almost entire blade, basal pinna 45 x 4.5 cm, decurrent at base, middle pinna 46 x 5 cm, apical pinna 42 x 10 cm. Inflorescence up to two per plant, interfoliar, erect, spicate; prophyll fibrously decaying; peduncular bract to 22 cm, inserted just above prophyll; peduncle 18 cm, 0.4 cm wide; rachis 9 cm, 0.8 cm wide. |
