| Field notes | Cespitose, with suckers at base. Stem to 5 m, 6-7 cm diam, often bending. Leaves ca 15; rachis 175 cm, pinnae 11-13 per side, basal pinnae 45 x 8 cm, middle pinnae 75 x 9 cm, apical pinnae 58 x 20 cm. Infructescences 2, infrafoliar to 3 tiny branched; peduncle 20 cm, 5 cm wide, flattened, yellow with a white tomentum; rachis 45 cm; 1. order rachillae 20, the upper 8 simple, these 18 x 0.6 cm; lower 1. order rachillae 30 cm, pedunculate for 11, 2. order rachillae 16, the upper 10 simple, these 18 cm, 0-6 cm wide. |
