| Field notes | Stem to 2 m, erect or procumbent, with new shoots from node, spiny. Leaves 6; sheath 12 cm, open to base, spiny; petiole 14 cm, forming a 90° curve, sparsely spiny; rachis 35 cm; blade entire, 48 x 26 cm, bifid at apex, margins erose, ribs 17, above with a row of fine, 1 cm long spines, lower surface densely pubescent. Sterile. Note: Common in some parts of the forest. |
