| Field notes | Solitary. Stem erect or procumbent, up to 150 cm, 1 cm diam, light brown. Leaves 5-8; sheath 10 cm; petiole 32 cm; rachis 17 cm; blade entire, 27 x 19 cm, bifid at apex. Infructescences 2, inter- to infrafoliar, once branched; peduncle 11 cm; rachis very short, 2 cm; rachillae 3-4, 10-15 cm, 0.3-0.4 cm wide, orange; fruits ovate, acute, green, 1 x 0.6 cm. Common name: "Palmito" according to local informant. |
