| Field notes | Solitary. Stem 180 cm long, ca. 2 cm diam, internodes ca. 1 cm, dark beige. Leaves ca. 11; sheath 11 cm long, 8 cm wide at base, open to the base, with long fibrous threads at margin, some new sheaths closed for 2 cm; petiole 22 cm , 5 mm wide, rounded below, flat above; rachis 28 cm long; pinnae 2-4 per side, 1-10 veined; lower pinnae 28 x 6 cm, middle pinnae 26 x 7 cm, apical pinnae 18 x 5 cm. Inflorescence bud infrafoliar, inserted at the base of the lowermost leaf, 22 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide. Inflorescences 2, inserted 3 and 8 nodes below lowermost leaf; prophyll and peduncular bracts persistent but dry; prophyll 28 x 2 cm, peduncular bract 20 cm long, inserted 8 cm higher, 2. peduncular bract 8 cm long, inserted 19 cm above the base; peduncle 32 cm, reddish brown with a mealy tomentum; rachis 5-6 cm long; 1. order rachillae 7; lower 21 cm long, 6-7 mm wide; apical 17 cm long, 6 mm wide, reddish brown |
