Field notes Solitary. Stem 115 cm, 2.5 cm diam, light brown, creamy, internodes ca. 2 cm. Leaves 11, old leafsheath and remnants of petioles persistent for the upper 20 cm of the stem; sheath 19 cm, open almost to base, margins fibrious, with a brown indumentum; petiole 60-75 cm, rounded below, flat above, green; rachis 85 cm; pinnae 3-7 per side, of irregular size, 1-13 veined; lower pinnae 60 x 12 cm; middle pinnae 50 x 7 cm; apical pinnae 38 x 9 cm. Inflorescence bud infrafoliar. Inflorescences 2, infrafoliar; prophyll 30 cm, 3 cm wide; peduncular bract 24 cm, 2 cm wide, inserted 7 cm higher; peduncle 40 cm long, 1 cm wide, orange; rachis 19 cm; 1. order rachillae 12, the 7 upper simple; lower 1. order rachillae 9 cm, with up to 5 2, order rachillae, up to 20 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; upper 1. order rachillae 15 cm long, 0.5 cm wide. Fruits globose, green, 0.5 cm diam (immature).
