| Field notes | Solitary. Stem to 6 m tall; 7-8 cm diam. Leaves 27; sheath 22 cm, brown, disinlegraling into a dense fibrous cover; petiole 60 cm, rounded below, flat above, green; rachis 105 cm, rounded below, ridged above, green; pinnae 9 per side; lower pinnae 60 x 5 cm, middle pinnae 64 x 7 cm, apical pinnae 43 x 8 cm. Inflorescences inter- and infrafoliar, ca. 8; prophyll 40 x 8 cm; peduncular 31 cm long, 5 cm wide, inserted 7 cm above the prophyll; peduncle 35 x 3 cm, flattened, green and covered with a brown tomentum; rachis 29 cm; rachillae 16, lower 35 x 1.5 cm, apical 30 x 1 cm. Fruits bluish-black, ovoid, 1.5 x 1 cm. |
