| Field notes | Small, understorey palm. Stem procumbent, 25 cm long, 3 - 4 cm diam., green; internodes 0.5 cm. Leaves 11, spreading, inserted closely together; sheath 6 cm, incompletely encircling the stem, green; petiole 38 cm, rounded below, flat to rounded above; rachis 67 cm; pinnae 5 - 6 per side, sigmoid with a long cuneate apex; basal pinnae 37 X 3.5 cm; middle pinnae 40 X 6.5 cm; apical pinnae 21 X 7.5 cm. Inflorescence 1, interfoliar, spicate; prophyll 15.5 cm; peduncular bract 22 cm, inserted 0.5 cm above the prophyll; peduncle 68 cm, slightly compressed, green; rachis 15 cm, 0.8 cm diam., bordeaux red; flowerbuds present.
