Leaves 13, erect, arching; sheath 38-42 cm long; petiole 20-25 cm long; rachis 100-115 cm long; pinnae 23-24 per side, inserted in groups of 3-5, groups spaced 8-12 cm, pinnae subregularly on apical part of leaf, all more or less in one plane, middle pinnae 25-30 x 2.5-3 cm, densely bristly. Inflorescence pre-anthesis interfoliar, erect; prophyll 32 x 1.7 cm; peduncular bract 95 x 2.5 cm, wilted; peduncle 80 cm long, 0.5 cm diam. apically, densely armed with 0.5 cm long spines; rachis 26 cm long, distal 4 cm bearing flowers; rachillae 34, very thick, basal rachillae 18 cm, apical 3 cm long: infructescence with immature fruist interfoliar; prophyll 27 x 1.8 cm; peduncular bract 105 cm long, withering; peduncle 110 cm long, 7 mm diam. at base, 55 mm diam. distally, densely spiny; rachis 17 cm long, incomplete, upper part wilted, breaking off; rachillae 16, some missing distally, the eight proximal ones with immature fruits, basal one with fruits for 11 cm, 8th with fruits for 3 cm.
