| Field notes | Plants to 2.5 m tall, blade 70 x 30 cm, reddish beneath when young. Sheath ca. 60 cm long, petiole plus pulvinus 110 cm. Flower slightly yellowish white, with one outer staminode. No fruits in old inflorescences. |
