Field notes Solitary palm tree, 12-20 m tall stem, c. 25 cm diam. Collection of juvenile individual leaf, male inflorescence from ground, old infructescence from ground + fallen fruits. Female inflor.: prophyll 70x8 cm, 2nd prophyll 75 cm, 4 long bracts to 200 cm long, 5th bract short, free part 25 cm; rachillae 50, to 47 cm long, branched to 3 orders; peduncle 143 cm long; rachis 78 cm long. Male inflor.: peduncle c. 42 cm; rachis 93 cm; rachillae densely branched to 3 orders. Leaf of juvenile plant with distal pinnae adhery, green above, densely grey-tomentose below, indument waxy, can be removed. DNA voucher.
