| Field notes | "Moderately robust, high-climbing rattan. Stem 15 m long, rising to ca. 7 m. Leaves to 3 m long, including petiole 40-50 cm and cirrhus ca. 1 m long; pinnae ca. 60 per side. Inflorescences borne in axis of normal leaves; axis to 70 cm long with 6-8 primary branches; bracts up to 10, tending to split ventrally, but are penetrated by the inflorescence dorsally just below the thickened, spiny apex. Flowers yellowish-orange to brownish red depending on age of inflorescence; flowering sequence acropetal" |
