Rhizome short creeping 2-4 cm, white with brown bracts, forming dense clump, smell slightly unpleasant, shoots 3-4 m tall when fully developed, with leaves on distal approximately 1/2, these with undulate margin. Leaves of young shoots uniformly wine-red below, becoming green on mature shoots. Inflorescence borne on rhizome, emerging between shoots, 40-6- cm tall. Flowers of tip of inflorescence in cop made from the pale red bracts; inflorescenceaxis otherwise pale green. Flowerbuds red, pale green act apex, petals and labellum red" |
