Field notes Small treelet, stems 2-4 m tall, 3-4 cm diam., branching from base. Ligule 14 x 3 cm; petiole 60-65 cm x 9-12 mm, green to violet, glabrous; leaflets 9-12 per leaf, glabrous, paler below than above; smallest leaflet 23-31 x 6-10 cm with petiole 4-5 cm x 3-4 mm, largest 40-46 x 3-14 cm with petiole 9-11 cm x 4-5 mm. Inflorescence a terminal panicle; axis 28-30 cm long, green to pale brown, with a brown, caducous tomentum, becoming nearly glabrous; branches 34-50, the lower 53-60 cm long, reddish violet, glabrous or with a sparse tomentum. Flowers in umbels; peduncle ca. 5 x 1 mm; pedicles ca. 2 mm long; flowers 3-5 rarely to 7 per umbel, reddish violet, ca. 1 mm in diam.; styles 5, dark red. Fruits green, with red apical stigmaic remains, ca. 5 x 4 mm, pentangular-ribbed, sparsely pubescent
