Field notes Solitary palm. Stem erect or decumbent, 2-4 m tall, ca. 3 cm in diameter, internodes to 25 cm long on the proximal part of the stem. Leaves 5; sheath 40 cm long, closed, petiole 55 cm, rachis 115 cm, pinnae 28 per side. Infructescence 50 cm long, with rachis 20 cm. Fruits green, globose, 1 cm in diam, some becoming yellow-orange, all with hard seed.
