| Field notes | Solitary or caespitose, acaulescent or with procumbent aerial stem to 15 cm long, 3-5 cm diam. Leaves 7-11, dark green, lustrous, ± brittle, spreading; petiole 10-40 cm long, rachis 35-70 cm, pinnae 5-8 per side, middle ones 25-35 x 3-10 cm, veins elevated above. Inflorescence erect, spike elevated above crown; prophyll 15-40 cm long, bract 20-40 cm, peduncle 50-90 cm, spike 25-35 x 0.6-1.0 cm. Fruit black, 11 x 8 mm |
