| Field notes | A tall tree, used for firewood, common name: "valcasar". Opposite dark green leaves, sessile, somewhat leathery, about 50 cm long and 20 cm wide. Upper leaf surfaces have a bumpy appearance, caused by small veins "bunching up" the leaf tissue. Branches are reddish when young, with soft white pubescence. Foliar stipules present. |
