| Field notes | A large tree, 40-45 m tall, 1.5 m in diameter, common name: “saman”. somewhat similar to guachapeli (Pseudosamanea guachapeli), but the fruits are indehiscent, resinous pods. Leaves bipinnately compound, entire leaf about 30 cm long. Petioles and undersides of leaflets are pubescent. Flowers have many long, rose colored stamens |
