| Field notes | Solitary; tall to 15 m high, stem 15 cm in diam., internodes 10 cm long, black with lichen spots; leaves numerous (56) in the crown, arching, leaf 250 cm long, with powdery white wax, leaf sheath 40 cm long, segments 40; inflorescence 140 cm long, prophyll 45 cm long, flowers reddish pink at anthesis.
