Field notes Tree ca. 10 m x 15 cm; lamina to 100x100 cm; petiole to 80 cm long; stipules to 45 cm long; peduncle to 15 cm long, spike to 30x1.8 cm; spathe to 23 cm long; stem bluish (waxy layer) smooth; stipules orange-pink; spathe orange-pink; petiole bluish-green (waxy layer); lamina glaucous beneath, above white with arachnoid hairs, lamina with (8-) 9 lobes, incisions down to ca. 3/4-2/3; trichilia poorly developed (no food bodies); no ants; inflorescences in pairs; often an up to 8 cm long bract at the base of one of the two inflorescences.
