| Field notes | Stem ca 5 m tall, 2.5-3 cm in diam., uniformly thick, strongly armed with black spines. General colour of stem brownish. Stems 5, arising from ca 3/4 m . No stiltroots present. Distance between leaf scars in the upper part of the stem ca 10 cm. Leaf scar whitish. No of leaves: 3-4. Length of petiole: ca 40 cm. Length of blade: ca 1.5 m. Infl. single, pendent. |
