| Field notes | Solitary, height 8m, leaves 2.5m incl. petiole 40cm and cirrus 1 m, leaflets regular, 36 per side, dark green on both sides, sheaths green, covered in red, caducuous indumentum, knees green with horizontal yellow slightly elevated lines at base of spines, inflorescences pendulous 70cm, branched to 2 orders, with 8 first order branches, leaf sheath with 2 erect spines (1 on each side) to 8cm, breaking off easily |
