Field notes "Solitary palm 8 m tall. Stem 17 cm in diameter, brown, without wax. Leafsheath + petiole 140 cm long, diameter of petiole just below the basal pinnae 5.6 cm; rachis 493 cm long; pinnae 119 per side, the 10 apical united, regularly distributed, in one plane, basal pinna 30 X 1 cm, middle pinna 76.9 X 4.5 cm, apical pinna 28 X 2.5 cm. Sterile. NV Paik or Ramo (Shuar). "
