Field notes Herb, 2 m tall. Inflorescence basal. racts orange, flowers yellow. N.v.: Bihigua (Shuar). Uses: Mature fruits are eaten raw and considered sweet and good. The base of the leaves (rhizome) is used for diarrhea, boiled with water.
