| Field notes | Caespitose palm with 10 stems, 4 m tall. Collected stem 3.75 m long, diam 5 cm; internodes 12 cm long, heavely armed with black, flattened spines to 6 cm long, especially below the nodes. Leaves 3 + 1 juvenile, spreading; sheath 68 cm long; petiole 33 cm long; rachis 178 cm long; pinnae 34 per side; inserted regularly and in one plane. Infructescence; prophyll 32 cm long; bract 49 cm long; rachillae 23. |
