| Field notes | Solitary palm, 350 cm tall, dbh. 13 cm, stem heavily armed with up to 11 cm long spines. Leaves 11; petiole 90 cm long; rachis 160 cm long; pinnae 43, inserted in groups of 2-7-6-1-8-1-9-9 (counted base to apex). Infructescence 1, inflorescence 1, inflorescence-buds 3. Inflorescence interfoliar, green; peduncle 90 cm long, ovate, green with a creamy pubescence, spiny on the adaxialy side; bract 175 cm long, woody, outer side spiny; rachis 65 cm long; rachillae 116, basal rachilla 35.5 cm long, middle rachilla 20 cm long, apical rachilla 3.5 cm long; flowers yellow. |
