Field notes Caespitose palm with 6 stems. Stem 2.5-3 m long, diam 5 cm. Leaves 3-5, inserted over 100-135 cm; leafsheath 64- 85 cm long; petiole 102-108 cm long; rachis 172-200 cm long; pinnae 57-60 per side, inserted in groups of 5-4-6-5- 6-4-5-4-5-8-7 (base to apex), inserted in different angles to the rachis, the basal pinna of each group having an angle of 45° upwards, the apical pinna horizontal, basal pinna 35-46 x 3-1.6 cm, middle pinna 58-73 x 3.2-3.7 cm, apical pinna 24-26 x 2.1-3 cm. Infructescence 1, interfoliar; prophyll 23-33 x 3-5.6 cm; bract 43 cm long; peduncle 22 -28 cm long; rachis 10-13 cm long; rachillae 25, basal rachilla 10- 11 cm long, apical rachilla 11-12 cm long, the 4 basal rachilla are subtended by bracts, the basal 4-4.5 cm long; number of fruits per rachilla 1-4, mature fruits ball-shaped, dark bordoux, 3 cm in diam. N.V. Natul. Fruits edible.
