Field notes Solitary palm. Stem 424 cm long from base to crownshaft. Dbh. 4.4 cm. Internode 19.8 cm long. Stem creamy-white to green with conspicuous nodes. No. of leaves 5 + 1 juvenile. Leafsheaths 85 cm long encircling the stem for 45 cm. Petiole 16.5 cm long cross section convex-concave. Rachis 181 cm long. No. of pinnae 2 x 28. Basal pinnae 43 x 3.4 cm, mid pinnae 58 x 7.1 cm, apical pinnae 38 x 9 cm. No. of infructescences 3. No. of flower buds 2: 1 flower bud at the 1st node below the crownshaft, 1 flower at the 2nd node below the crownshaft, 1 infructescence with green fruits at the 4th node below the crownshaft, 1 infructescence with green fruits at the 5th node below the crownshaft, 1 infructescence with red fruits at the 6th node below the crownshaft. Mature infructescence: Petiole 17.5 cm long, cross section ovate 1.5 x 1.0 cm. No. of bracts 5: 1 prophyll and 4 peduncular bracts. Rachis 14 cm long: No. of rachillae 18. Basal rachilla 20 cm long, apical rachillae 12 cm long. Petiole rachis and rachillae green. Mature fruits red. N.V.: Corosa. Uses: no Dupl.: QCA, QCNE.
