Field notes Solitary palm. Stem 368 cm long from base to crownshaft. Dbh. 3.2 cm. Internode 10.5 cm long. Stem green with conspicuous nodes. No. of leaves 5 + 1 juvenile. Leafsheath 74 cm long encircling the stem for 35 cm. Petiole 17 cm long cross section convex-concave. Rachis 137 cm long. No. of pinnae 2 x 28. Basal pinnae 37 x 3.2 cm, mid pinnae 50 x 6.1, apical pinnae 33 x 3.8 cm. Inflorescences inserted at the 4 apical nodes. No. of inflorescences at the 1st nodes: 9 flower buds. No. of inflorescences at the 2nd node: 6 flower buds, 1 inflorescence that has decreased flowering and 1 inflorescence that is decaying. No. of inflorescences at the 3rd node: 1 flowering. No. of inflorescences at the 4th node: 2 partly eaten flower buds. Inflorescence: Peduncle 7.7 cm long cross section ovate 0.6 x 0.5 cm. No. of bracts: 1 prophyll and 3 peduncular bracts. Rachis 4 cm long. No. of rachillae 15. Peduncle, rachis, rachillae and flowers creamy-white. N.V.: Coroso. Uses: no. Dupl. QCA, QCNE
