Field notes Caespitose palm with 2 stems up to 210 cm long. Dbh. 3.3 cm. Stem green and with consicuous nodes. No. of leaves 3 + 1 juvenile. Leafsheath 55 cm long encircling the stem for 22 cm. Petiole 13 cm long. Rachis 97 cm long. No. of pinnae 9 on one side 7 on the other. Pinnae of different sizes. No. of veins per pinnae on one side of lamina going from the base towards the apex: 1-1-1-2-1-4-4-6-15. No. of inflorescences 3 infrafoliar. NV. Zezero according to Pablo Aguavil (Colorado). Used for colouring textiles black. The leaves are smashed, mixed with water and left together with the cloth over night. Dupl. QCA, QCNE
