| Field notes | Solitary palm 4,50 m tall. Stem 2,62 m from base to lowermost leaf, brown with prominent nodes, diam at base 3,5 cm, DBH 3,5 cm. Internodes at the base of the stem 5,5 cm long, nodes 0,5 cm. Base of stem with numerous advertivous roots (stilt-roots) emerges from base of the stem, and from a node 60 cm above the base, thus ferming a basal cone 60 cm tall, 40 cm in diam. A vegetativ bud found just above the basal cone. No of leafs 7, leafsheet 94 cm long, oncircling the stem for 10 cm. Leafsheet green with brown margins, crossection convex-concave. Petiole 22 cm long, green crossection round, diam below lowermost pinnae 1,1cm. Rachis 103 cm long, green, abaxially concave. No of pinnae 2x12. Pinnae green, falcate, with prominent veins. Pinnae inserted in one plane and are of different size. Basal pinnae: 39x1,9 cm, mid pinnae: 56x5,8 cm, apical pinnae 51x6,5 cm. Inflorescence: 1 mature infructescence at 9. node below lowermost leaf, 1 inmature infrutescence at 7. and 8. node below lowermost leaf 1 inflorescence at node 6 below lowermost leaf 1 nearly mature bud at node 5, young buds at node 1,2,3, mature inflorescence. Prophyl: inserted 1 cm above the base. 1 sheating bracht: inserted 1,3 cm above the base, 2 sheating bracht: inserted 1,7 cm above the base + 3 sheating bracht: inserted 2,0 cm above the base, 5 cm long, splitting up laterally right side to the base, brown 4 sheating bracht: inserted 2,8 cm above the base 6,5 cm long, brown splitting up laterally right side, to the base. 5 sheating bracht: inserted 4,6 cm above the base, 9,5 cm long, green, splitting up 4,5 cm latewrally left side. 6. sheating bracht: inserted 5,5 cm above the base, 9,5 cm long, green, splitting up 4,5 cm laterally left side. 6. sheating bracht: inserted 5,5 cm above the base, 20 cm long, green splitting up 7 cm laterally right side. 7. sheating bracht; inserted 8 cm above the base, 38 cm long, apical part brown, dry, splitting up left side 27 cm. Peduncle; 29 cm long, green, crossection circular, diam. below lowermost rachillae 0,9 cm. Rachis 14,5 cm long, green. No of rachillae 62. Baselmost rachillae 25 cm long, apicalmost 19 cm long. Rachillae green with big bases. Flowers in groups of 4 male, yellow and 1 female green. Flower groups regurlary distributed, alternate on the 2 opposite sides of the rachillae. mature infructescence with up to 3 fruits pr. rachillae. Fruits yellow to orange. Ovate 2,8x1,5 cm. |
