| Field notes | Caespitose palm with 5 stems, to 6 m tall. Stem 310 cm long, diam. 6.5 -9 cm, base with numerous adventitous roots. Leaves 8; sheath 59 cm long, encircling the stem for 16 cm; petiole 122 cm long; rachis 184 cm long; pinnae 35 -36 per side. Infructescence infrafoliar; prophyll bicarinate, inserted 3 cm above the base of the peduncle, 33 cm long, 3.3 cm wide, encircling the peduncle for 28 cm; bract deciduous, inserted 18 cm above the base of the peduncle; peduncle 101 cm long, brown; rachis 18 cm long, brown; rachillae 12. |
