Leafbases persistent and the stem only visible at the basalmost 70 cm which is green, glabrous with fibrous reminiscences of leafbases. Internodes to 8 cm long. Nodes encircling the stem. Stem 180 cm long measured from base to lowermost green leaf. Diam. at base 8 cm. Leafsheath + petiole 96 cm, hard to distinguish. Leafsheath encircling the stem for 8 cm, at base beige, glabrous, green apically. Margins splitting up in a 50 cm long brown, fibrous and wollen mess(?). Rachis 380 cm long, the basalmost 152 cm with a flattened ridge, rest reduplicate seen from the adaxially side. On most leaves rachis is turning, making the apicalmost 1/3 of lamina vertical. No. of pinna 2 x 68 + 1, regularly distributed, except for minor displacements making pinnae alternated on the basalmost 102 cm of rachis and the rest opposite. Pinnae are inserted in one plane. Largest pinna (middle of lamina) 51 x 4.4 cm green and glabrous adaxially, abaxially with brown pubescence. No. of infructescences 6 nearly mature + 1 bud below each leafsheath. The lowermost reminiscences of infructescence is found 90 cm above the base. Prophyll bicarinate, 29 cm long, 6 cm broad, encircling the peduncle for 25 cm, splitting up irregularly, whitish to black apically, inserted 3.5 cm above the base. 1 sheathing bract; bicarinate on young inflorescence, inserted 20 cm above the prophyll, 22 cm long, black, splitting up to the base. Peduncle 32 cm long, ovate; diam apically 4.1 x 2.4 cm, yellow to whitish: Apical part of peduncle with 15 sterile bracts, leather-like beige to brown, ovate with a pointed apex 5.3 x 3.1 cm.
